I was working as a substitute teacher and 5th grade science teacher at Basis Chandler.

I attended a week-long conference/training at ASU that gave me the basics I would need to become a political organizer for the upcoming 2020 presidential election. I was able to do voter registration in DTPHX, canvass for Mark Kelly for Senate, and participate in 2 nights of phone banking. The selection process for this bootcamp was competitive and candidates were trained to work full time on the election for 2020.

I was initially hired as an assistant to the financial manger of a research institution on campus where I was responsible for reconciling grant reports, researching flights/travel accommodations and itineraries, event planning for conferences and meetings as well as miscellaneous administrative tasks such as scanning documents and delivering mail. As my role shifted I became an administrative student worker for the research coordination network (RCN) grant G2P2POP* (genomes 2 phenomes 2 population). In this role, I helped professors prepare for NSF grant submission by reviewing materials, proofreading, and cross-referencing. Additionally, I curated CBI’s and the RCN's social media presence, creating content for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as updating the website. I was trained in Wordpress and helped monitor the g2p2pop's blog and website as well as collaborate on an interactive map that was embedded into the membership page. As well as monitor the website, social media, and email, I was tasked with organizing documents for scholarship distribution and worked with the Biology Department to coordinate timely and accurate awards.*G2p2pop is a research grant dedicated to studying vertebrate’s response to climate change

I learned LinuxOS to run reports on the Weather Research and Forecasting system (WRF) to compile spatio temporal data, specifically in regards to precipitation from the last 10 years. Upon successful completion of this project, models may be created to predict if there will be enough water in the next 10 years. This data will be especially important as climate change threatens weather patterns and freshwater supplies. I presented my results at the Undergraduate Research Symposium.

I was a program leader as the camp’s naturalist that was responsible for the nature/sustainability enrichment program. I prepared lessons and experiences for girls ages 8-17 while living at a girl scout camp for 3 months.As a camp counselor, cultivating a safe and educative space for young women was one of the duties among being a leader for young girls.

I helped manage a museum/state park by merchandising for seasonal displays, preserving the artifacts, and doing routine maintenance around the park as well as leading tours of the historic Riordan home citing details of architecture, history, and the family’s contribution to the city of Flagstaff.I learned a lot about the state of government funds and state parks. The history and culture that these places offer our communities are valuable and must be protected and maintained.

I helped schedule activities for girls ages 7-11 and supervised and ensured their safety. It was my responsibility to ensure a worthy camp experience.
