About Gabrielle Kohlmeier

As the general counsel for half of the US Verizon Consumer Market, I am a core member of the Market President leadership team and primary legal counsel for all Verizon retail stores. I lead a team that provides legal advice and guardrails, and operate as a strategic advisor and partner by: - identifying industry, social, and geopolitical trends; - creating proactive strategies to empower and protect employees, customers, assets and brand;- leading cross-functional efforts focused on integrity and compliance;- counseling on retail technology launches and use cases; - leveraging networks and expertise to activate public policy teams on high risk consumer protection, artificial intelligence, and competition issues; - integrating with our ESG reporting; and - balancing physical and digital risks to create mechanisms for enhancing resilience in an increasing volatile security, enforcement, and economic environment. Previously, I built long-term strategy, cross-functional teams, compliance and governance programs in leading Verizon's Federal Trade Commission and competition policy strategy. As lead lawyer for omnichannel operations, I led As associate general counsel for antitrust and strategic projects, I counseled consumer, business and media groups on all types of antitrust issues and represented the company before US and international government agencies.Internally, I lead organizational transformation projects, am a founding member of the Artificial Intelligence Policy cross-functional team, and am a longterm leader and activator on Verizon’s Global PPLS Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Council. I am a co-host of the Lifting Up podcast. Externally, I am one of 12 governing officers of the American Bar Association Antitrust Section (~10,000 member org), AI Task Force co-chair, and ABA Commissioner on Women. I sit on several nonprofit boards as director or advisory board member, including the Women's Excellence Network (WEN) and HerHuddle, and created a coalition focused on inclusive tech policy. I volunteer, raise funds, or spearhead various STEM programs for girls and initiatives focused on advancing women and other underrepresented communities. A relentlessly enthusiastic learner and connector of people and ideas, I am a frequent speaker and writer on competition, technology, compliance, business, sustainability, and diversity issues.
