I am a non-clinician expert on helping adults and children learn how to recognize and release emotions in the body through movement. I am the founder of the Lenae Release Method, which is a research-based movement method that helps adults and kids learn how to accept, express, and release emotions in the body through movement. With my background in dance and my research on the rejection of emotions within the body, I help communities and individuals learn how to release, emote, and heal from traumatic and stressful events. Through my dedication and commitment to helping kids and adults learn to use dance for self-expression, stress relief, and emotional regulation I founded Express & Release Therapeutic Dance which offers online and in-person workshops, webinars, after-school programming, and licensing and certifications.Through our space, we hope for dance to be normalized in being used for stress relief and coping with life’s daily transitions. We hope to cultivate healthier societies that foster relationships with the self and the community. We long for the people of our community to freely express themselves and not be afraid to feel overwhelming emotions.
