10-week translational plant sciences fellowship studying basic and practical research application. First 5 weeks took place at Virginia Tech, studying virus-induced gene silencing in cucurbits, soybeans, and tobacco, second 5 weeks at the Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center, studying nutrient uptake comparisons for floating treatment wetland plant species, followed by a poster presentation at the Office of Undergraduate Research Summer Research Symposium.
