This position exemplifies a full circle moment for me. As a Swimming Instructor at the Y, I returned to my love of teaching swim lessons. This time to both children and adults.

At lucy I combined a personal interest in the Health & Wellness industry with a chance to use my PR skills. While in this position I managed a team of 6 sales associates. Conducted marketing outreach and maintained B2B relationships with area fitness professionals.

As a Public Affairs Associate I wrote and managed the publication of a monthly tip sheet with distribution to more than 350 industry reporters. I honed my media relations skills by fielding inquiries and organizing interviews for association executives. I also covered the annual NAR Legislative conference in journalistic style to write press releases showcasing daily conference highlights.

My time spent on the McDonald's team (the largest account in the DC office at the time) was an incredibly valuable experience that I'm reminded of frequently. As a Senior Account Executive I managed a four-member team with an annual budget of close to $1 million. I directed the implementation of a web-based scheduling tool used by 300 McDonald's Restaurants in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Before leaving GolinHarris I also pioneered a 360-degree review and goal setting initiative for the Ronald McDonald program.

This was my favorite job! My affinity for teaching swim lessons was ignited at ESF Summer Camps. At the time I was one of the youngest directors on staff. As Assistant Aquatics Director I supervised a team of 12 lifeguards/swimming instructors. Performed all administrative duties associated with scheduling lessons, coordinating facility needs and tracking the progress of participants. When not performing management duties, I always enjoyed my time in the water teaching campers ages 4-15 basic, intermediate and advanced water safety.
