My work, at the nexus between human rights and conservation, focuses on promoting social responsibility in global fisheries. I currently lead Ocean Outcomes' social responsibility program, developing and implementing solutions to address human and labor rights issues in small-scale and large-scale fisheries and FIPs. I have more than 6 years of experience implementing human rights risk assessments, including the Social Responsibility Assessment (SRA) Tool in diverse fisheries and supply chains. As a leading expert, I have implemented the SRA in 10+ FIPs and supply chains. I have also led the training and capacity development of other assessors in the field.I have previously worked with diverse organizations including Conservation International and the Food and Agriculture Organization, as well as large seafood retailers. I have extensive experience working directly with fishers, buyers, and government to advance social responsibility and decent work in the seafood industry. I am founder of Salience, an independent sustainability consultancy focused on improving human rights in the seafood industry.
