A manufacturing company (Tex-Trude Inc) needed a foundation for a new frame tower and building addition as well as 30,000 sf of concrete paving. I was contracted to mainly -Design a drilled pier foundation for the new frame tower-Manage a crew and subcontractors to complete the construction in a timely manner-Design the drainage for the concrete paving

I started working for Alpha Consulting Engineers under the direction of Scott Tak, P.E. and Steve Bourassa, P.E. a couple of months after graduating from college.While working with Alpha's diverse client base, I had the opportunity to take on various roles and enhance my skills as a structural engineer.-Designed structural systems including composite steel, concrete, tilt-up, masonry, and wood for various types of architectural projects(Institutional,Industrial, Churches, Commercial, Healthcare, Government,and Special Use)-Aided in the development of B.I.M. models using Revit, Ram, and Fastrak -Evaluated and analyzed the condition of existing structures and developed structural design recommendations -Coordinated with project team members and co-workers to provide a high quality structural service

Working for Miller Builders, my father's turnkey concrete construction company, has been a great honor. I had the opportunity to get ahead and take on big responsibilities while in High School. As my role grew as an estimator, I completed take-offs and wrote proposals which led to winning my first bid. My roles included but not limited to: -Calculated various statistical data, quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour -Developed bid package estimate documents & preconstruction documents-Coordinated and communicated between field and general contractor-Visited project sites to document work progress and safety measures-Ensured the availability of equipment and materials on siteI also had the opportunity to work in the field as a carpenter and finisher, which gave me a unique perspective while working as a designer and project manager.
