As Director of Rental, Gabriel Mays oversees growth of Rental by nurturing business relationships and unifying the customer experience nationwide. In his previous role as the LA Rental Manager, Gabriel worked with producers, cinematographers, and assistant camera operators to provide the highest level of customer service possible. He also ensured that all their equipment needs are met on budget.Before coming to AbelCine in 2015, Gabriel previously worked as a Communications Instructor and Electronic Media Engineer at a private university. He taught various courses in electronic media, including film, broadcasting, and digital arts.Gabriel is an award-winning cinematographer, director, producer, and editor known for his innovative research and implementation of new film techniques. He was also one of the first to implement HDSLR cameras into filmmaking. He has been the cinematographer on dozens of independent films, documentaries, and music videos.

Responsibilities: Comprehensive care of my clients’ marketing needs including conceptualization, budgeting, and pitching ideas. Production and delivery include directing, script writing and bracketing, talent casting, crew management, camera set-up and scene lighting, color grading and editing, as well as the oversight of all design work.

Instructor Responsibilities: Taught various electronic media classes on topics such as film production, television production, graphic design, and web design. Some of my instruction was lecture based and others were workshops designed to allow a hands on approach for the students in an effort to give them a comprehensive view of filmmaking. Engineer Responsibilities: I managed over 30 employees for the television studio, radio station, and film department. Installation, maintenance, and repair were all part of my responsibilities. Also I was in charge of researching, purchasing and testing all equipment, along with training employees on the equipment.

Overseeing three television shows on a weekly basis. Managing and scheduling daily programs. Also overseeing and producing two thirty-minute films every year.

Directing live weekly news program, overseeing pre-production and production (lighting, graphics, and camera operations). I also acted as the technical director.
