Smartrek Technologies is an innovative company from Québec that specializes in IoT sensors finely tuned for high range of effect with very low power consumption (LPWAN) thanks to their SpiderMesh RF technology.My main contributions alongside Smartrek are in embedded systems development as well as full-stack development - ranging from integrating new sensors into our Mesh ecosystem to creating the respective Web App pages to allow interaction with said sensors. Most notably, I have worked on numerous sensors involving multiple embedded devices such as MCUs, FPGAs and specialized ICs. In most cases, signal processing was necessary in one shape or another, whether it be filtering or analysis, with special attention on minimizing power draw.Finally, I had to interface said embedded devices to our Radio Module and ensure as good as possible UX with the help of our modern Web App.

My primary duties are to design custom FPGA boards - schematic, PCB and implementing multiple Interfaces required for the project's needs.The biggest challenge was to get acquainted with the world of implementing high speed and very dense circuits on PCBs. Also, I needed to understand and implement interfaces and communication protocols such as SPI, UART, JTAG.
