About Gabriel A. Piser, Ph.D.

I support IU's Center for Rural Engagement by developing and expanding large-scale community impact initiatives and strengthening relationships with local community stakeholders. I bring over 15 years of experience working with rural communities as a researcher, educator, and consultant. Prior to joining the CRE, I led Big Sky Education and Strategy. My past consulting projects include: designing youth, community, and professional development programming for K-12 school districts; developing participatory regional food systems asset maps; assessing campus-wide diversity initiatives; and managing social justice-focused research and planning initiatives.
