Here is a firsthand description of my duties:- Assisting optometrists in conducting preliminary eye examinations.- Preparing exam rooms - Sterilizing & insuring all necessary equipment is available.- Patient greeting, gathering medical history, recording cheif complaints and facilitating a comprehensive understanding of their eye health needs.During the examination process, I perform various diagnostic tests and measurements. - Automatic retinoscopy, keratometry readings, mesuring intraocular pressure.- Visual field testing ( FDT, Humphreys )- Caputuring retinal & superwide field imagery & anterior segment imaging for iridocorneal angles, gas permeable lenses and corneal trauma.- Capturing axial lenght mesurements & topography readings.I handle ophthalmic instruments with care and precision, ensuring accurate and reliable results. Patient care & support:- Explaining the purpose and procedures of tests to patients.- Assisting in contact lens fittings and evaluations.- Contact lens teaching and maintenance techniques, and troubleshoot common issues.- Guidance on lens options, considering factors such as lifesyle, visual requirements and ocular health.- Explain various eye conditions, treatment options and the importance of regular eye exams.- Guidance on preventive mesures and lifestyle changes to promote optinal eye health.Administrative duties- Managing patient records- Recording examination findings, test results and prescribed treatments in EMR systems.- Scheduling appointments, perform appointment reminders, verifying insurance coverage and process billing.I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for patients, making them feel comfortable and at ease throughout their visit.
