As a former Dreamer, she experienced the intricacies and difficulties of the US immigration system firsthand. Gaby has been central to the advocacy of immigration and immigrant rights and has received numerous accolades for her work. She spearheaded the efforts that led to the announcement of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and became the first undocumented Latina to testify in front of Congress in 2013. Currently, Gaby serves as the Director of Advocacy, Communications, and Development at TheDream.US.
