Kalana is a coarse nuggety gold deposit located in South Mali. Endeavour acquired the project in September 2017 and we immediately started a massive delineation DD and RC drilling campaign (over 60.000m drilled in 7 month). As a project manager, I prepared the drilling program and associated budget and was in charge to organize, follow and manage all the aspects of the work. I worked with the group resource geologists to update the geological model which would be the base of the MRE update.We also drilled the Kalanako deposit and surroundings resulting in the update of the Kalanako MRE and the discovery of a new deposit.

When the JV between Iamgold and Avnel ended, exploration duties reverted back to Avnel. I joined the company to be in charge of the exploration effort. Due to the coarse nature of the gold in the Kalana deposit, we started by auditing the assaying method used by Iamgold and decided to start a massive re-assay campaign using the leachwell method. This work lead to a 20% increase of the grade which ended in a major increase of the resource. I selected the samples, supervised the samples preparation, audited the labs to supervise their work and took part to the QAQC review. I also took part in the various work related to the PEA-PFS-DFS study: metallurgical, environmental and geotech sampling. We also conducted a condemnation drilling campaign around the mine, I was in charge of the drilling program planning, the supervision of the drilling and sampling and QAQC.

I started as a junior geologist working on the GENEX program looking for potential new project acquisition. During this time, Iamgold signed 2 JV in Mali for the Siribaya and Kalana projects. In 2009, I then moved to the Siribaya project where I evolved to the position of project geologist thanks to my active participation in the planning, supervision and interpretation of the drilling campaigns (>90.000m drilled in 3 years) and my participation in the daily organisation and management of the life on the camp.
