Hence the structure will experience high stresses and deflection due to inertia… Show more Structrual Analysis of Interface Beam on Fighter Aircraft”; DARE, DRDO is a defence organization as developed an Interface beam structure to house sensors it which will be mounted under the fighter aircraft wings. Before implementing interface beam on a fighter aircraft wings it is necessary to carry out structural analysis for the interface beam because two heavy equipment’s will also be attached to interface beam. Hence the structure will experience high stresses and deflection due to inertia load during different flight conditions. In this project the structural analysis of interface beam is carried out by using both analytical method and Finite Element method during critical loading conditions. The inertia loads, critical loads, von-mises stress, deflection and natural frequency are derived by using analytical method. The Finite Element Analysis is carried out by using the software MSC NASTRAN and MSC PATRAN. Where the MSC PATRAN is used for pre-processing and post processing and MSC NASTRAN is used as a solver. Static analysis and modal analysis are carried out by using Finite element analysis. Both the analytical values and Finite element method values are compared to find out whether the design of the Iterface beam is safe to install under the fighter aircraft wings.Responsibilities involved: •Inertia Loads, critical loads, Von-mises stress, Deflection and natural frequency of Interface beam is carried out by using analytical method.•Preparation of the FE model of the Interface beam in MSC Patran (Model simplification, Assembly Meshing, Application of loads and boundary conditions).•Performance of the following analyses on the Interface beam in MSC Nastran.•Linear Static Analysis•Normal Modes Analysis.•Post – processing of results from FEA, Interpretation of results like von-mises stresses, displacement and natural frequency are compared with the results of Analytical method.
