I'm a Christian minister-in-training, learning how to follow Jesus, love God and others, teach the truth, and lead well.I became a Christian on July 3, 2022 when I first believed the message of Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and began to live my life for Him. This was not my plan.My plan, which existed in my imagination, was to either build a unicorn startup or work on Wall Street. A different kind of miracle happened instead: I got saved.Being saved changed everything, my worldview, my desires, and my thought process regarding my career.Old me wanted to get rich and travel the world. New me wanted to do the will of God and accept the consequences. And God said, "Son, get a job." There was a need in my area for substitute teachers and school bus drivers. I got both of those jobs. My first week teaching was the most difficult week of my life. It was a good challenge, requiring a large dose of diligence and a heaping scoop of patience. A mentor reminded me, "Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character." The primary purpose of that season was to develop character.I enjoyed being a school bus driver. And I was by far the youngest one in the county. I took the job seriously, as a calling from God. I prayed specifically for safety and generally for all the students on the bus. While I was a bus driver, I learned what a military chaplain is. I became deeply interested in that role, and God called me to prepare to be one.Then I started studying chaplaincy at Liberty University and got recruited to serve as a ministerial assistant at Bellevue Baptist Church.It's been an incredible journey. Follow Jesus. There's nothing more costly, nor anything more worth the cost.
