Michael is part of a team of consultants who were selected to provide support to the State of Michigan and the Michigan Health Information Network. Michael was the Lead Technical Architect and was responsible for the developing the technical architecture for the MiHIN backbone. He also was responsible for developing a technical assessment for stakeholder organizations and leading the vendor selection process. The MiHIN just recently had their strategic and operational plans approved by ONC.

Technical project director for the HIE of NM Regional Health Information Exchange Organization (RHIO). The HIE of NM is a 21 county association of 13 hospitals and affiliated healthcare providers located in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The HIE is concerned with improving the coordination of care, the timeliness of clinical decision making, and both patient and provider satisfaction, by supporting and facilitating the implementation of electronic health records and health information exchange in Northern Michigan.
