I have worked in the field of Developmental Disabilities for over 15 years. I am committed to helping the people we support develop skills and abilities as they become active members of their community.I am also happy to mentor staff teams to provide the best supports possible to the people in their care. I have worked with persons that are primarily diagnosed with a mental health issue or a developmental disability. I have supported persons involved in the justice system, hospital or crisis system. I enjoy meeting and building relationships with such a wide variety of people and looking at how to help best implement changes they have identified as a need.Most important to remember is that what we call another person's "behavior" is communication. I always start with looking at what and why they have used this form of communication before attempting to make a change of any kind. I am certified in Trauma work as well as courses regarding Dual Diagnosis. I continue to learn and expand my knowledge and expertise so I can do the best job possible for each of my clients.
