Practice Manager
I worked for AKE as the Practice Manager for just over a year, ensuring that the various day to day operations of the company ran smoothly. I thoroughly enjoyed working for the company as the work varied each day, and the tasks were exciting and challenging. I was the head project lead in implementing processes and structures within the company and rolling these out to clients. These platforms ranged from the implementation, training and roll out of an online accounting software package (to the organisation and to various internal clients); the introduction of a streamlined payment system (to ensure invoices were paid promptly, thus increasing cash flow); an online data capturing system to collect and sort the receipts & paperwork; a time tracker software solution (to monitor productivity and timekeeping) and an innovative forecasting solution, to name a few. With the roll out of MTD in April, I completed my Migration Certified through Xero.
Administrative Manager
I started with Eposability in May 2014, expecting to stay for approximately 1 year - 18 months maximum. I thought I would get in, fix a few policies and procedures, and move on. I am grateful to say that I remained a consultant for them for nearly 3 and a half years. During that time period, I was responsible for setting up policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department, ensure staff were paid on time, and deal with the day to day running of the company. It was my pleasure to take a small company of about 8 employees, all doing their own thing, to a well-oiled machine, consisting of 14 employees, almost running on autopilot.I implemented a paint by numbers approach for uploading data to Xero, streamlining the Creditors function, paying accounts on time, invoicing timeously and following up on outstanding payments, approving overtime and paying wages, to implementing an easy online system for employee expenses (Pleo). The biggest joy I received was working closely with the Managing Director, Robbie Francis, and the Financial Director, Nigel Maglione, analysing the business, ascertaining where we could ensure the biggest profit and seeing the company grow on a monthly basis.
Office Administrator
In August 2013 I left my full-time employ and decided to venture out as a Freelance Consultant. Within a month of me leaving the employment sector, I landed my first client, Brilliant Media (It Has To Be Brilliant). As the company was a growing concern, they only required my services for 3 days a week. This was perfect. It gave me the freedom to work on my terms and still add value to an organisation.During my time there, I re-designed the entire admin function, streamlining the invoicing and the debtor's function.
Customer Relationship Manager
In November 2011 we emigrated from South Africa to the UK. This was both a very exciting and nervous time for my family and I. We like many foreigners, believed that we had arrived in the land of milk and honey, and I was eager to make a contribution to both the economy and my family's economy. After being in the UK for 2 months, I landed my first "real" job, working as a CRM Consultant, working on SalesForce CRM and making cold calls and telesales. It was a half day position, working from 9 am until 2 pm. The job was ideal as we were new to the country, and I had plenty to learn.During my time with IBC, there was much to learn about the UK market and the building industry. This was a great stepping stone for me, and it developed my confidence and expertise in a new market.
Business Partner Relationship Manager
I worked with 15 Business Partners. I was responsible for training them on new Huge Voice products (GSM, TMS, Fax2email and Bulk SMS) and keeping them updated with the new technology. I conducted regular meetings with them, and attended client meetings, wherein I assisted in closing deals. I was the primary point of contact for the client, within the company. My goal was to grow the Business Partner accounts with Huge Telecom, by increasing sales into their existing client base
