I found it fascinatings, sometimes frustrating, but always well-written.Of course, there are various types of fantasies but the depth and breadth of your research demonstrates that you are talking about something more than an exercise of your imaginationand intended the book to have a basis in reality. To me the story is a description of how a "saving remnant" could persuade themselves to comit a giant fraud in order to salvage an institution that is fast becoming irrelevant. Of course, massive fraud in not unknown in church history,the donation of Constantine is perhaps the outstanding example.You are a clearand kinowledgeable writer with an impressive grasp[ of Latin American affairs and Vatican politics - or perhaps I should say, Latin American politics and Vatican "affairs".! The cabal that surrounds Pope Damasus discuss various objections to the conspiracy and advances reasons why it will work.Someday you must explain to me how and how they fail to talk about the most obvious objection: To guard against false prophets we are taught that the return will be dramatic and immediate. Any cliamant to the mantle of savior within the Christian tradition would have to explain the lack of "lightning from the East and flashes from the West."On the other hand, you are in good company.
