Responsible for the facility management and program operations within the three Fairfax campus student unions comprising over 540,000 SF of program space and $16.3 million operating budget as well as event services support at multiple auxiliary venues on Mason’s regional campuses for the Commonwealth’s largest public university. Directed 26 professional and full time staff associates (6 as direct reports) and over 90 part time student employees in the management of event, building, and fiscal services as well as employee development. Examples of Accomplishments:• Established a 5-year facility planning forecast process for the Student Centers capital projects and infrastructure improvements which allowed for greater advance planning both fiscally and structurally.• Collaborated with Auxiliary Enterprises, Campus Dining (Sodexo), and Facilities on over $8 million of facility improvement and capital programming projects. Notable improvements included the independent leasing and renovation of multiple retail tenants which included Panera Bread, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-a and renovation of five elevators and replacement of the entire EPDM and standing seam roof.• Initiated a budget planning process which required staff members to create their individual unit budgets to establish budget accountability. The process was successful in engaging staff in a way that promoted innovation and efficiencies allowing for savings to be applied to new initiatives within the organization.• Fiscal management responsibilities required managing multiple revenue sources and allocations generated from a combination of self-generated, E & G, and student fee funds. Successfully balanced the fiscal needs of multiple facilities, services and operations between multiple campuses.

Notable projects included 30,000 SF food court rebranding & renovation and $3.8 million renovation of the parking structure and conversion to a fully automated parking access and revenue control system, establishment of a hotel breakfast suite, and development of a multicultural center space within the MU. • MU Advisor to the Government of the Student Body and the VEISHEA executive board (annual spring week celebration). Promoted the creation of a Student Organization Recognition Policy which impacted 800+ campus organizations. Served as a member of the campus-wide Event Authorization Committee. • Collaborated with University Facilities planning staff in the development of economical solutions to building facility challenges inherent with an 81-year old historic building incorporating sustainable and energy conservation improvements.

F• Facilitated the annual Greek Recognition Review Board hearings and Hazing Prevention workshops. Greek advising responsibilities were transferred from the Assistant Director position to the Director position in August 1995, due to personnel changes and solid working relationships established with the student leaders in the organizations.
