Compliance officer, the cool safety lady, the safety/recycling mom. All the unofficial titles I've received over the years. I am able to become CSP certified within 12 months. My goal is always to protect a company by reducing liability and risk when it comes to EHS, chemical/site security, DOT and other areas of compliance. My goal is to always keep my employer in compliance and most of all keep my coworkers safe and in one piece. I've worked at various degrees of EHS for 25 years, managed people along the way and been hired to save companies who couldn't pass ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 certification. I implement and manage EHS program and train in most of those subject matters. I prepare all written programs/plans/procedures required by EPA, OSHA, DOT and others. My goal is to work with employees to build trust and change behaviors so that I can reduce incidents and injuries as well as end spills and environmental incidents. I can do the same for many others. Please contact me at 817-600-5112 or gmbackus@hotmail.com.
