I taught an Aviation class for one year to 90 students, grades 4 through 8. Created a curiculum and lesson plans and hands on activities on the following topics: history of flight, parts of a planes, the Four Forces of Flight, careers in aviation, drones, historic figures such as the Wright Brothers, Bessie Coleman, Amelia Earhart, Tuskegee Airmen, Chuck Yeager, etc.. Classes were taught in person until March 2020 and virtually through 2022. I also provided substitute teaching services usually 2 or 3 times a week. Social Media/Web Management - I created and managed three IRS YouTube channels (English, Spanish, and American Sign Language) and supervised the setup of the IRS Facebook page, reviewed Twitter policy and developed QR code policy. For IRS.gov, I established keywords policy, business rules and style guides. I managed coordination of content on the home page and I co-chaired a group that addressed web governance issues. Business Results - I achieved significant cost savings of over $2.3 million by bringing all educational marketing in-house, changing our distribution methods, and reviewing the need for programs that were costly. Lead teacher for 5th grade class of 36 students at Sugarloaf Elementary School. Taught all subjects and supervised an assistant teacher. Then I moved to Atlanta and taught at Rich’s Academy which was an alternative school for students who had previously dropped out of school. My focus was on math skills and life skills. It was a rewarding experience.
