I am Based in Nottingham but live in North Lincolnshire and therefore I am able to assist with matters over a wide geographical area.I qualified as a F.Inst. Lex in 1999 and thereafter as a Solicitor in 2004. I transferred to the bar in July 2011. I have experience in a range of Civil Litigation matters but have specialised in family law since 2000.I joined St Mary's Chambers in August 2011 and undertake work in the following areas:-* Public law children * Court of Protection* Private law children * Matrimonial finance* Injunctive relief/domestic violence* Trusts of Land* Representation at Coroner's InquestsI am very interested in and very keen to develop a practice involving international children issues.I am also able to accept instructions direct under the Public Access scheme.Recent Cases:-* Representation of paternal aunt and uncle in private law Children Act Proceedings seeking residence order against background of international considerations and concerns regarding alienation of the child against birth mother.* Representation of wife in financial proceedings where conduct was successfully proved resulting in a higher financial award to the wife.* Representation of husband in financial proceedings where it was successfully proved that the wife had misappropriated some £84,000 and gambled (and lost) a further £17,000.* Representation in Court of Protection proceedings where an elderly patient with dementia sought to be allowed to return home in circumstances where residential care was considered more appropriate for her needs.* Representing a mother at inquest following the death of her son where concerns were raised in respect of the police investigation surrounding the death.* Representing a local authority at inquest following the death of a patient at a mental health unit after she was permitted to leave the ward unsupervised for a cigarette.
