Children are the future - Cliché??? In my years of experience with very young children to the teen population, what I find are some fundamental principles, true for them all. They all need love, attention, teaching, discipline, and consistency in order for them to feel safe and that they will be take care of. We have an obligation to provide them with these tools if we expect them to grow up keeping others safe and taking care of our environment and communities. We all have a (civic) responsibility to one another. We can no longer sit back and say “it’s not my job; it’s not my problem”; we simply cannot afford to. My two sons and my daughter cannot afford for me to take on this attitude; because it is and will be their problem; they will (in some form or fashion) be affected by this lack. (Another cliché???) It takes a village… Imagine if we all believed this to be true, what a world this would be!
