I bring three decades of experience in local and state government to my current role as General Manager, Strategy and Effectiveness at Surf Coast Shire Council.A career across three different local government areas of Wellington Shire, Latrobe City and Surf Coast, has provided experience in managing multi-million dollar budgets and complex projects. A regional leader, fulfilling various executive roles, I have assumed responsibility for a range of local government functions including Land Use Planning, Economic Development, Investment Attraction, Advocacy, Municipal Services, Arts, Events, Tourism, Recreation and Leisure Facilities, Community Development, Family Services, Aged Care Services, Emergency Management & Recovery, Communications, Engagement, Civil, Open Space and Facilities maintenance.Driven by a desire to achieve positive things for my community, I am outcome focused and believe strongly in proactive stakeholder management, as a key to success in any role. I have a reputation for getting things done and a deep commitment to delivering great outcomes for the communities where I work.Known as a problem solver and a strong people leader I have experience in managing large teams and a desire for them to be high performing. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma of Education and am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. I am currently a Board Member of LGPro, and have previously held positions such as Chair of the Opal Australian Paper Community Consultative Committee and a member of the Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy Ministerial Advisory Committee.
