Led a team of in-house and consultant staff to provide communications project management, content development, and outreach programs for Metro's historic 10-year, $15 billion capital program, as well as Board policy initiatives and other planned projects. This included launching both phases of Metro's Silver Line and raising customer awareness and trust around maintenance programs with major service impacts. Developed and executed communications plans that incorporate elements of strategic messaging, media relations, marketing, customer research, customer service delivery, community outreach, government relations, and employee communications. Provided editorial direction and oversight to ensure accurate, consistent content; implemented strategies for creating content that can be versioned across multiple channels for different audiences; and tracked and reported metrics to assess the effectiveness of communications content and outreach strategies. Provided strategic counsel to senior executives on communications. Wrote and edited speeches, talking points, op-eds, government testimony, and other materials often under tight deadlines. Interacted frequently with senior management at enterprise, program and functional levels and with industry peers, customer representatives, and operations staff to remain current on Authority developments and issues.
