I am responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the Children and Tee program of service, as well as all of the library's adult programs, maker activities, outreach, and community and civic engagement activities.I am charged with communicating with division staff and the public a clear vision and direction for the library.I prepare the programming, outreach and Makerspace budgets and participates in budget planning for departmental activities.I recruit, hire, train, and mentor library employees and volunteers.I manage projects and timelines for the programing and outreach team including the preparation of a calendar of events, programming, and outreach activities.I gather and analyzes statistics, writes reports on departmental operations and develops goals in support of programming, outreach, Makerspace activities, and the Library strategic plan.I write, review, defend, and implement Library grants. Currently, we are administrating a $250,000 IMLS grant. Last year, I received a $20,00 InfyMaker Award from Infosys.I provide direct service to patrons.

Recruited, trained, coached, and evaluated twelve full time and part time librarians and library assistants, interns, and volunteers. Expanded services by doubling the number of volunteers and interns.Built and managed collection budgets, programming, and special project budgets.Participated in management team rewriting job descriptions. Worked with library board to establish policies and create two long-range plans.Planned, presented, and evaluated all adult, family and youth programs doubling the number offered each year.Successfully researched, wrote, and managed grants.Created and maintained library's youth, outreach, and programming portions of website using Adobe Dreamweaver. Recently, the library website transitioned to Drupal. Expanded library outreach activities. Built and maintained strong community partnerships.Grew annual fund raising appeal supporting summer reading programs.Promoted the library with marketing campaigns. Wrote media releases, created library publications, initiated and cultivated library's social media presence. Built an excellent collection for youth from birth through high school, parents, and care providers. Increased Youth and YA circulation by more than 45%.

Classified and cataloged all library materials doing both copy cataloging and original cataloging. Selected and deselected all materials in the adult fiction and audiovisual collections. Provided reference and readers’ advisory service to adults and children. Trained patrons, adults and children, as well as other staff members in the use of the Internet and other electronic reference sources.

Provided consulting and workshops in library administration & management, reference, automation, interlibrary loan, and youth services to 10 public library systems, 4 school districts, 2 technical colleges, & 3 correctional facilities in a 9 county region.Coordinated the lateral ILL service. Developed ILL protocols.

Interviewed job applicants. Performed yearly performance evaluations for departmental staff. Supervised and trained staff of nine.With the youth department staff, developed departmental goals & objectives.Planned, promoted, and evaluated story and thematic reading programs, parental education, school tours and visitations, special celebrations and related exhibitions. Participated in two remodeling projects and one new building project. Worked with architects and designers to plan distinguished youth service areas.
