• Conducted research on gender-based violence (GBV) surrounding water and sanitation facilities among refugees living in the informal tented settlements of the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon• Objectives of the research were to collect information on prevalence of GBV in relation to WASH facilities, determine the risk factors associated with incidences of violence, and understand what software and hardware interventions will allow women and girls to access these facilities safely and with dignity• Designed the study according to the “WHO Ethical and Safety Recommendations for Researching, Documenting and Monitoring Sexual Violence in Emergencies” as well as the “IASC Guidelines for Integrating Gender-Based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Action”• Conducted primary data collection consisting of key informant interviews with actors in the WASH and Protection fields in Lebanon (Beirut and Bekaa Valley)• Coded and analyzed results using NVivo
