During my time at the office I had been exposed to several ways the non-profit has been effectively seeking out ways to help those affected with dementia and their families. One of my roles was to effectively create a template focusing on how nutrition can benefit slowing down the cognitive decline of dementia. I had the leadership opportunity to interact with seniors in neighbouring communities to speak about the society's aim in raising awareness of the disease. Moreover, using Google “My Maps” I helped initiate the process of understanding which areas in Halton the organization is and is not communicated with, particularly focusing on lower socioeconomic areas.
