Engineering Technician II Research and Development Special ProjectsResponsibilities Include: Fabrication and testing of prototype parts One on One working with a Design Engineer & Project Manager for Research and Development (Special Projects) Fabrication and testing of prototype parts  Machines operated: Harding Lathes, Hydraulic Press, Drill Press, Arc and wire welding, Lamda & NTK Air/Fuel Meters, Horiba C/O Meters,  Dyne Systems Dyno, Superflow 110, Surface grinders, Shear brake and roll, vertical milling machine and layout experience. Build Fixtures and developed procedures for uniform parts, to reduce build time and lead-time from weeks to hours. Test setup, Emission and Dyno Testing of finished parts, Review of data and next step planning. Value Stream process for uniform product and process repeatability. Operator and Setup Cold former and Multislide Presses Responsibilities Included: Setup of multi-slide 30 Ton presses and cold forming machines Involved in setup reduction (SMED) and quality improvement teams Net Results - reduced setup times by 50% on some part numbers Machine Setup manufacturing and production : Setup machines for production on cylinders, pistons and crankshafts Setup reduction, Quality and Design teams for change to cell manufacturing, combined old style and dedicated CNC equipment. Net Results, Organized our team to facilitate 5 minute line changeovers from existing 4-hour procedures.
