Design and redesign of mechanical systems within the line of precision cutting systems.

In this position my focus was to design, evaluate and analyze electromechanical assemblies for the market leader in stabilized camera systems. During my time in this position I greatly reduced production times for each unit while maintaining system stability for the product line. I revolutionized the product line by developing an interchangeable payload system which allowed camera changes in less than half the time of our closest competitor all while maintaining market leading accuracy and stability. I routinely researched and evaluated feasibility of Request for Quote (RFQ) inquiries in support of sales activities. Additional responsibilities were: enclosure design, human factors design and configuring Bills of Material (BOMs) for custom sales in this high mix product line.

Major responsibilities included sustaining engineering and support of production activities, redesigning major electromechanical assemblies. I championed improvements to the Quality Management System (QMS) in this ISO 9000 facility yielding a 61.3% process time improvement while more than doubling Engineering Change Order (ECO) volume.

I managed efforts releasing a first-of-type wheel assembly by an independent bicycle component company. I increased organizational efficiency and effectiveness by introducing several business processes to evaluate product trends and assure alignment between product requirements and market demands. I successfully drove day to day efforts with overseas vendors and new vendor selection.

In this position I designed small to large sized electronic assemblies and managed prototype builds. I was responsible for mechanical design efforts and maintaining a high level of coordination with Electrical Engineering, PCB Layout, Planning and Purchasing in this this high-mix product line.I championed a new design introducing a modular cooling system for the large router family featuring redundant cooling capabilities and temperature monitoring within the existing size envelope.I created my own test plans, created test equipment when necessary, performed testing and successfully drove all of my projects through fitment and thermal testing as well as UL safety and performance testing.This role required self-managed efforts for creation of assembly documentation and follow-up on assembly procedures to ensure successful on-time production and shipment.Additional responsibilities included sustaining engineering and production support.
