-- The Real Estate Matchmaker -- Forget about thinking outside the box. As Galia puts it, “I don’t even know what the box is. My father was a general manager at hotels across Israel. As a teenager, I did every job a hotel has to offer, which helped me realize early in life that there was nothing I couldn’t do.”That sense of possibilities has manifested in a real estate career marked by a multiplicity of experiences. In private and public companies, she has been a landlord, tenant, buyer, seller, borrower, broker, partner, developer, tax planner, accountant and raiser of both debt and equity. As a US- and Israeli-trained CPA, Galia worked in Tel Aviv, in international tax, at KPMG and BDO Israel. She moved to BDO Canada in 2001, where she grew a desk – providing accounting and tax services to Israeli public and private real estate companies – from infancy to over $6-billion in assets. She then became CEO of Fishman Holdings North America, a subsidiary of three publicly traded companies, where she developed a diversified, $1-billion portfolio of real estate assets in Canada and the US. -A uniquely positioned matchmaker- Since 2011, Galia has worked as founder of Gal Investments, where she develops investments – but above all, operates as a uniquely positioned matchmaker. Having worked on every side of the deal, she not only has the experience to see them from every angle, but also a remarkable breadth of close relationships with the largest private and public sources of capital in Canada and Israel. Her vision is to have the longest, strongest relationships in the business.A sampling of Galia’s volunteer commitments include as a Governor of Tel Aviv University and as a Board member for Canadian Friends of Tel Aviv University.Known for her dogged work ethic, Galia believes that almost everything has a solution if you look hard enough.
