I am an Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon, Specialist in Head and Neck Surgery with a focus on thyroid and parathyroid surgeries. A few years ago, I was sitting in front of parents who struggled with the need to do ventilation tube surgery for their son.I was thinking: how come there is not a better solution? Why do we not use the natural paths of the body? Why do we injure the eardrum, who is an innocent bystander? Today, I’m a co-founder at Doya Medical Ltd. (“Doya”).Doya medical develops the eStent – a stent for insertion into the Eustachian tube (ET). The eStent replaces the need for ventilation tubes. The eStent addresses to solve ET dysfunction and otitis media with effusion (OME).The eStent Stent is placed in the Eustachian Tube to keep the ability of the Eustachian tube to equalize pressure and drain fluid naturally, supporting our body’s anatomy, rather than cutting the eardrum and inserting a tube.
