Trip leader within wilderness - based experiential education offering facilitation of both technical and interpersonal skills to students of various ages and experience. Specific job responsibilities include: Facilitating a safe and educational backpacking, canoeing, and climbing experience in the rural appalachian region surrounding Asheville, Pisgah National Forest, and the Linville Gorge.Participate in pre course planning for course activities and navigate student risk/safety guidelines.Support student growth and development through challenge and discovery of NCOBS outdoor programming.

Full time course director the Cedar Rock base camp operations. Specific responsibilities include:Planning and facilitating back country expeditions to aid in instructional staff were prepared to meet the goals and outcomes of the course.Supervising instructional staff to ensure they are delivering high quality and safe expeditions this includes pre course planning all the way through course end. Specifically working with staff to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks. Prioritizing needs of multiple courses running simultaneously, including supporting pre-planned logistical needs and unanticipated requests from the field. Communicating with all stakeholders – including instructional staff, administrative staff, logistics staff, students, and parents – throughout the duration of each course to ensure smooth delivery.Collecting feedback throughout course and through course-end debrief session to support programmatic growth and disseminated it to senior stakeholders in the organization.

Guide kayak tours on the broad creek in an interpretive naturalistic manner. Keeping customers safe while expanding their knowledge of the low country. Teaching customers about the unique environment in this region including plant and animal life.Assist customers with purchases within the store location. Ensure that customers received excellent service with merchandise questions and needs.Engage with customers in a professional manner when booking trips to answer general questions regarding Outside's various offerings. Understand all the programs the Outside offered and explain them to potential customers.Help with various Destination Management Events. Many roles include, being a kids program counselor for corporate events.

This position involves several roles within Outdoor Pursuits:Provide a safe and enjoyable climbing experience at the rock wall at Ohio University's Ping Recreation center. Key tasks consist of: opening and closing the wall, check climbers in and out, supervise climbers on the wall, and to belay climbers up the wall.Guide and plan the yearly adventure trips. These include, backpacking and outdoor sport climbing trips to various locations both near and far to Ohio University. Supply and maintain rental equipment. This equipment may be rented out by students and faculty as well as is used for Outdoor Pursuits' adventure trips. Facilitate challenge course programs which provide adventure-based leadership development. These programs range from low ropes, which include several small features for team building skills, to high ropes, where participant are challenged on high rise obstacles.

This allowed a vast knowledge of the food items thus being more helpful when questions arise about food products.Wrote down club members orders and transferred them to the computer system where payments could be processed.Cleaned all equipment and work areas that were used. This is in preparation for the next day of kitchen use therefore keeping the food prep location sanitary. Provided guests and members with an enjoyable dining experience by utilizing costumer service skills.

Assisted costumers with clothing selections and purchases through the use of successful communication skill and costumer service. Achieved daily sales goal by promoting the clothing and informing costuming about products as well as discounts available throughout the entire store. Keep the store front looking clean and organized thus promoting purchases and business. Restocking clothing which has been sold therefore allowing more purchases to be made on the product that still remains.

Worked with students one on one to provide a valuable skiing experience surrounding their skiing goals. These private lessons ranged from a variety of skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. Taught several specialized children camps throughout the week to assist children in skill building activities. Although, these camps were ski base children learned valuable communication skills, confidence, independence, and courage. Participated in several training event sponsored by the ski resort in order to improve my personal instructing abilities. These ranged from PSIA certification to learning how to teach participants to ski in the park.Inspired and provided a safe and enjoyable skiing experience for customer satisfaction.
