Began career as a Mechanical Design Engineer but quickly learned what interested me the most was computers. After finishing school I was hired by the company where I was an intern. Learned a lot and was exposed to many different technologies. After leaving AcumenIT, I began working at Cisco supporting small business equipment and became very familiar with layer 3 switching, server implementation and large company network deployment. Because of my past experience with Microsoft Server platform and my interest in virtualization I was placed in charge of technical documentation for Cisco's new NSS 300 series storage devices. That was a tremendous learning experience and has allowed me to grow my knowledge of networking ten fold.Wanting to learn more about very large environments I accepted a position at EMC's new datacenter in Durham NC. My role was to support software engineers and maintaining an array of different operating systems and hardware platforms. This is truly fantastic, because it gave me access to old and new hardware and every OS you can think of. I supported AIX, HPUX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows. Ok maybe this is not every OS but its more in one place than I have ever imagined. While at EMC I was introduced to Cisco's UCS system and loved it. This opened an opportunity with Cisco TAC Server Virtualization group. Now I provide support for the fast growing UCS servers which are truly amazing machines. The main reason for the move is to allow me to get closer to corporate environments, their architecture and design. My focus is on the UCS hardware but we troubleshoot network and network storage (iSCSI, NFS, etc) and also Fiber Channel. SAN connectivity is probably one of the most typical calls and I find that most times the problem is not with the UCS. Gaining more experience and learning more, all while trying to study for CCIE - Data Center.Specialties: SAN Storage, Switching, Routing and Virtualization.ESX server, and Citrix Xen server
