- Proficient in the use of Simpson Strong-Tie software (Alpine and MiTek competence) and CAD software such AutoCAD, to review and design wood roof trusses and floor trusses.- Interpret architectural drawings and blueprints to create accurate designs that meet all relevant design codes and standards.- Apply the structural engineering principles to ensure the structural integrity of the designs.- Optimize truss designs for cost efficiency.- Prepare detailed take-offs and cost estimates for truss components and materials.- Provide support to the Truss Estimator and Construction Estimator teams to help prepare accurate bids and quotes.- Troubleshoot design issues efficiently and provide solutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.- Maintain proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to manage project data and documentation.- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the construction industry, including changes in building materials and design codes.- Excellent understanding of timber construction, wood roof trusses, and prefabricated building products.
