About Frederick ("Erick") Gallun

I study how we can better understand and diagnose the impacts of age, hearing loss, and traumatic brain injury on central auditory function. We are currently involved in building tools that are freely available, run on consumer-grade technology, and that will "flip the lab" by bringing modern scientific methods into the clinic and the classroom. The main areas of study are 1) binaural sensitivity and the ability to benefit from spatial separation of sound sources, 2) temporal processing, and 3) speech understanding. For Current Research Projects, see: https://braingamecenter.ucr.edu/cognitive-perceptual-assessments/https://braingamecenter.ucr.edu/perceptual-training-apps/
