Filling the position for 5th/6th grade lacrosse coach within the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation department proved to be a an enjoyable learning experience. Although I was in a position to coach athletics to youth during my internship with Sport2Sport, the opportunity to coach a group of athletes unified to one sport was a first for me. Please note that this is a volunteer position with Raleigh Parks and Recreation.

As a basketball scorekeeper, I was able to learn how to properly keep record of the score, penalties, and other basketball statistics on the scoreboard as well as in the score book. I also was in charge of making sure players were eligible to play and that they checked in before games. This position required my full attention and awareness since any major errors in score-keeping could alter the course of the game.

As a site manager for the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation's youth football league, I was responsible for overseeing the football practices and relaying information from the practice sites to my supervisor, the Recreation Program Manager for the City of Raleigh. I had also worked a few gamedays as a play-counter or a scorekeeper. Go Brier Creek Chargers!
