CurrentTechnical Proficiency- Resourcefully debugged AA and AAA multiplayer games using breakpoints, print statements, logs, and crashdumps.- Profiled and assisted in the optimization of over-budget scenes. Solutions usually included caching, reducing simulation accuracy, and/or amortizing costly algorithms across multiple frames.- Utilized 3D linear algebra to optimize expensive line of sight checks for a multiplayer nameplate system.Implementation- Designed a simple syntax and parser so non-coder teammates could program my automated cheat system with reusable scripts.- Employed object oriented best practices and coding patterns to improve the readability and sustainability of the codebase.- Defensively implemented code by leveraging hotfixing techniques and early outs to ensure stability.- Implemented a multiplayer nameplate system with dedicated client/server logic for better performance and scalability.Communication & Collaboration- Offered candid responses on code and performance reviews. In turn I openly accepted and addressed feedback from teammates.- Maintained a two week agile cadence while managing my time implementing new features, fixing bugs, and actively reviewing code.- Concisely labeled source control submissions to be auto-merged as well as coalesced for use in official patch notes.- Fielded live questions and comments from attendees at a student recruitment event. Over two hundred high school students and their guardians were in attendance.- Summarized our learning in polished weekly emails where I celebrated students’ accomplishments. This served to motivate my students and keep their guardians informed.
