The World Bank awarded grants on a competitive basis for undergraduate programmes within Sri Lanka, with the aim of improving the quality and relevance of those programmes under the IRQUE (Improving Quality and Relevance of Undergraduate Education) Project. APIIT was successful in securing the only grant available for the private sector competing with 15 leading private sector tertiary educational institutions. Played a key role in formulating the strategy for the project which included aspects such as improving the learning environment, improving the learning experience of students, improving core skills, staff development and social and intercultural harmony. Responsible for continuous monitoring of progress and ensuring positive outcomes.
