Bringing complex image registration into clinical practice! As PhD candidate, I am developing and researching image registration techniques for the medical domain, at the radiation oncology department at the LUMC. Current deformable image registration techniques still are not being widely used in clinical settings, due to the challenging nature of the problem. In my research, I approach the problem from a multi-objective perspective, using Evolutionary Algorithms.Next to my research, I led monthly educational sessions for researchers.

Founding member of Ensemble ZOEF, a collective of young, passionate musicians with a fresh perspective on music and a strong social mission. As business manager, I'm involved in bookkeeping, fund-raising, and online presence of the ensemble.

Assisted in two editions of the MSc-level course on Evolutionary Algorithms at Delft University of Technology.

I am principal viola player in this ensemble, since the spring tour of 2019. Symphonic music, everywhere and for everybody! That's the mission of the Ricciotti Ensemble, the street symphony orchestra of The Netherlands. We perform in places where live music rarely comes, such as jails, shelters, and hospitals. Three tours per year, within and outside of NL.

During my MSc thesis at TU Delft, I researched the capacity planning process in cloud datacenters in collaboration with industry-leader Solvinity, combining different disciplines to propose a novel approach to this critical problem.

For 3 years, I lead the software engineering team for the OpenDC simulation platform: an open-source datacenter simulator, featuring collaborative datacenter modeling, live performance statistics and diverse simulation models. My responsibilities included coordinating team efforts for the development of the software product and developing the frontend web application.

I was the lead developer and maintainer for the website of the @Large Research Group (atlarge-research.com). All content is statically generated in a Node.js environment, at build-time.

During interviews with students, I gave feedback on their solutions and graded their submission. I also assisted students who had questions during the lab sessions, trying to help them connect theory to practice.As head TA, I also helped coordinate the teaching efforts of the course in both theoretical and practical components. I also was primary point of contact for other TAs and students with questions and concerns. In some courses (such as the BSc seminar) I had an additional communication role, coordinating with faculty staff helping as supervisors in the course. In the BSc seminar, the Research Project, and the Software Engineering Methods courses, I organized the presentation days of the courses.

I worked in the EEMCS Distributed Systems group as Frontend Engineer on OpenDC: an open-source datacenter simulator, featuring collaborative datacenter modeling, live performance statistics and diverse simulation models. I was responsible for developing the frontend web application.

During the begin phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was a volunteer maintainer and core developer at We\Visit, a service providing an online platform for relatives to connect with patients and clinical staff through video calls. This initiative was started by TU Delft, Reinier de Graaf Hospital, Erasmus MC, ICConnect, and FCIC, in response to the increasing number of ICU patients treated in isolaion.As a volunteer on this project, my responsibilities are twofold: As a maintainer, I coordinate different efforts and review contributions, and as core developer in the project, I have contributed a large part of the UI implementation and a number of features in the full stack (Java, Spring, Thymeleaf, Bootstrap, SCSS).

I was part of the teaching team for the first-year course Systems Architecture, which is part of the core Bachelor curriculum of Computer Science students at the VU. The course teaches students the fundamentals of Computer Science through discussion of the core concepts of computer organization and low-level Assembly practicals. As a TA, I graded student homework and lab submissions and provided support during lab sessions. I also gave one of the lectures of the course, as a substitute lecturer for the professor.
