Worked on a variety of interesting logistics and fulfillment problems in a multi-sided on-demand marketplace. As an ML engineer, I take pride in being able to make the appropriate tradeoffs in terms of system performance, metrics improvement, complexity and execution timelines. Some of the problems I have worked on are: - Forecasting demand at various granularities and horizons across the entire marketplace. These forecasts were used to power fulfillment decisions across the platform- Inferring the uncensored demand from customer sessions when observed demand is limited by the amount of supply available. This was a foundational system that allowed the system to recover from bad feedback loops when the marketplace is undersupplied relative to the demand- Supply forecasting and prescriptions for hiring targets. This was a foundational system that allowed the company to take a principles based approach to hiring contractors for fulfilling groceries.- Founding engineer on the earnings team. Iterated on pay models and built various models to power contractor pay

Working on next generation technology initiatives using stringent statistical techniques

Opened up a new line of business for the company valued at > $40M/yr. o Systematically eliminated process errors using statistical approaches. o Established data collection best practices for monitoring process stability. o Utilized machine learning approaches to reduce defect rates from 8% to < 0.01%. o Developed a database-driven web application to empower troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
