Work on CCG cloud client OS as core developer.Lead two junior developers working together in a global virtual team.Major Projects:Jan 2022 – Present CCG cloud client OSCCG cloud client OS is a lightweight operating system based on Linux. It is mainly a basic OS built for domestic online education. In this project, we use Lubuntu Linux as the basis, constantly tailor the software, customize the kernel, support new hardware, and build it into a simple and lightweight basic OS (like ChromeOS).In addition to the above work, I developed several proprietary software features, system dual-mode functionality, system OTA, intelligent system throttling daemon, adaptive traffic shaping and supervision daemon, and intelligent noise reduction plugin.

Work on SLES HA/Storage Beijing team as technical lead.Focus on OCFS2/DLM/LVM2 projects as package maintainer, lead new feature design, assign the related tasks to team members, help team members to handle some tough issues in Linux storage/HA stacks.Hire and interview team candidates, help junior people to ramp up in Linux file system/block layers, be responsible for technical training for the whole team.Some slides at https://www.slideshare.net/dchg2000.Major Projects:Dec 2014 – Jan 2022 OCFS2 file system/DLM/LVM2Fix many kernel/user-space bugs in OCFS2 file system, Distributed Lock Manager (DLM) and LVM2, build OCFS2 CI system via utilize/improve ocfs2-test package, design/implement OCFS2 file system online FSCK feature and online defragmentation feature, provide non-block AIO support for OCFS2, optimize TRIM operation for OCFS2 on SSD devices, OCFS2 DLM lock monitor (o2locktop), solve various crash/soft-lockup/system hang/performance problems in kernel space.

Responsibilities:Work on personal cloud storage BU as team manager.Lead design and develop cloud (smart) router project.Hire and interview C/C++ candidates, be responsible for technical training for the whole team.

Work on FileStore product as technical lead in China team (20+ persons), the architect committee member (1 person in China, 1 person in India and 3 persons in US).Review new features/proposals with US architects, fix tough/urgent issues, tune performance for Symantec anti-virus in FileStore environment, design/develop FileStore Dedup component and SheildFS project, and coach junior team members.Major Projects:Jul 2012 - Jul 2013 SheildFSSheildFS project is a scalable distributed file system (like MooseFS project), which supports hundreds of millions of files, PB level storage, global name space, easy to scale-out, parallel write/read, and file system POSIX interfaces. Discuss the project technical details with US architect, lead China team members to implement the product prototype, do the further research to make the project into product.Jul 2011 - Jul 2013 FileStore Dedup componentDesign/develop FileStore primary storage Dedup component base on VxFS and PureDisk technologies, stabilize and optimize the program for meeting the requirements from the venders, e.g. identify file system related issues, reduce Dedup running time on huge file system, improve tolerance ability for various crash/power-down cases, etc.

Work on Celerra/VNX UFS file system component as core team member.Fix QA/customer bugs, lead new features design and development, hold the triage meeting with the architects in US site, and coach junior team members.

Lead SAVFL (Symantec Anti-Virus for Linux) China team to collaborate with US site, Linux kernel developer.Assign tasks to team members, establish Dev schedules, hold the conference meetings with US managers (PM, PGM, Dev/QA manager), etc.Lead new features design and development, fixing QA/customer bugs, requirement analysis, code review, building system and unit testing automation, memory leak check, performance/stress testing, etc.
