Leader for the day-to-day management and operations of Lockheed Martin Allcomp, Skunk Works’® ultra-high temperature materials factory and innovation enterprise. Responsible for setting the vision and direction of the portfolio, establishing operational development and production milestones, monitoring and driving cost and schedule performance for Allcomp programs and customers, improving and streamlining business processes, developing new business opportunities and growing the sales pipeline, expanding product lines and guiding development of new technologies, overseeing facilities and capital projects at Allcomp sites, managing performance, continuity, and growth of direct reports and a broad array of matrix functions, and maintaining a safe operating environment for employees.

Functional leader for core Materials and Process team of 50 engineers at the Fort Worth site (Aeronautics HQ) including 25 direct reports. Responsible for coordination, staffing, performance, and development of the competency, as well as technical contributions and guidance supporting the development, production, and sustainment of current and future derivative air vehicles. Primarily focused on production and sustainment of 4th/5th generation fighters (F-35, F-22, F-16).

Materials and Process Engineering functional lead at the Palmdale site (Skunk Works®) with 20 direct reports. Responsible for coordination, staffing, performance, and development of the competency, as well as technical contributions and guidance supporting the development, production, and sustainment of current and future air vehicles. Primarily focused on innovation, prototyping, and validation of advanced first time and next generation concepts (Advanced Development Programs). Contributed to high temperature materials technology development roadmaps and led execution of new business projects.

The Advanced Technical Leadership Program (ATLP) is a selective and prestigious 2-year mid-career program designed to accelerate development of high-performing talent in preparation for leadership roles at Lockheed Martin. The program includes stretch assignments, mentoring, structured training, leadership conferences, and a strategic action learning research project conducted in coordination with senior business unit management.

Served as Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for innovative ultra-high temperature composite structure with considerable Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities across multiple Advanced Development Programs. Extremely challenging tasking with aggressive schedules including complex aerothermal/arcjet and structural ground test campaigns to validate designs and production of unique flight hardware. Primary focal point for high risk, mission critical system with frequent briefings to senior internal stakeholders and external customer leadership.

Provided materials engineering support for highly innovative 'never been done before' aerospace products and technology projects including first flight and early production programs. Duties included material and process selection, design review with signatory authority, specification and allowables development, structural, thermal, and environmental design verification testing, supply base technology and manufacturing maturation, fabrication and production support, Material Review Board (MRB), project management (scope, budget, schedule, and technical status), new business research, development, road mapping, technology transition, and general advising as a high temperature materials subject matter expert (e.g., ceramics, fibers, carbon/carbon (C/C), oxide/oxide (Ox/Ox), and carbon/silicon carbide (C/SiC) composites, insulations, adhesives, fasteners, ceramic coatings, and thermal protection systems).

Served as technical lead and program manager for aerospace and defense materials development efforts for government and commercial stakeholders. Planned and executed activities to mature high temperature ceramic sealants, coatings, and ceramic matrix composite products for defense and aerospace. Led a variety of bids/proposals and successful captures.

Executed a wide variety of technical consulting projects, internal research and development efforts, and government programs to develop ceramic material solutions for service in high temperatures and harsh environments. Responsibilities included new materials development, characterization and testing, process engineering and scale-up, technical marketing, and stakeholder management.

Provided engineering and laboratory support for research and development projects to develop new ceramic material products under a cooperative engineering program at Northwestern University (6 terms/18 months full-time).

Supported research work in the Wessels Group. Explored new semiconductor systems and their magnetic properties for potential spintronic logic applications under the direction of Prof. Bruce Wessels and Dr. John Peters. Some of the results are published: "Magnetoresistance in InMnAs/InAs heterojunctions and its dependence on alloy composition and temperature" with Peters, J. A., Garcia, C., Wessels, B. W., Applied Physics Letters 103 5 053503 (2013).

Cryogenics Facility technician and coordinator for the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Supported facilitation of liquid helium and nitrogen stores for all research laboratories at Northwestern University (i.e., for near absolute zero experiments) as well as related maintenance and record keeping.
