As a production intern with Alexandra Grecco Bridal, I work closely with the production and sustainability team. This includes studio and showroom assistance, quality-control management, communicating and working with their factories, and assisting in hand-embroidery work.

Majoring in Fashion Merchandising with a Minor in Fashion Media and Sustainability

I am had the wonderful opportunity to work as a buying intern at Arhaus's corporate office for the summer! This position was an amazing industry learning experience. I have the pleasure to work between the buying and product development teams across categories. The opportunity to work hands-on in such a large business has taught me so much about the industry and role already. Arhaus's focus on sustainability and commitment to providing quality products is inspirational. This position has given me great experience and insight into the world of furniture merchandising and production up close.

As a Junior Coordinator for the Kent State Annual Fashion Show I train and manage the merchandising team and collaborate with the rest of the production team. In this role, I will grow my skills in leadership and organization in a fast-paced environment. While assisting the Senior Co-Producers and faculty, I will be able to assist in putting together an efficient and successful show for the Kent State BFA design showcase.

After leaving my amazing internship with Marta's of Raleigh, I started my education at Kent State University as a full-time student. However, I still helped the store input purchase orders, manage the link between the POS system and Shopify website, and input new merchandise into the digital POS system. This position has taught me so much about managing retail sales floors, relationships with vendors, and store inventory and turnover.

In this position I worked as a part of two cross-functional teams. As a lead of merchandising, I utilized my skills from my previous position with the Kent State Annual Fashion Show to better my team, and promote efficient backstage management. The organizational systems we developed led to ease in dealing with many different models, designers, and other team members. I learned to work under tight deadlines, high-pressure environments, and to manage the schedules of many people at once. As a stage manager, I managed the logistical details throughout the production of the show. All of these responsibilities and deadlines came together for a successful and clean-cut show in the end.

As a sailing instructor at Sequoia Yacht Club I worked directly with the harbor master and yacht club staff. We had a small instructing team for this program, so I developed classes, activities, and the culminating exposition for the program. This club involved children in the community between the ages of 8 to 12. This position taught me collaboration, management, and training skills that are transferable to any team-oriented position.

As a sailing instructor at Camp Don Lee, I held an important role in the social and emotional development and guidance of the children I worked with. Learning a complex skill like sailing can teach children so much about leadership, independence, and self-confidence if I approach it the right way as an instructor. I am extremely passionate and committed to this organization and I took on this role after over 10 years of involvement with Camp Don Lee. I became a seasonal staff member after completing the Leadership in Training program in 2020, where I gained the certifications and interpersonal growth necessary for this position. As a sailing instructor, I taught children between the ages of 6 to 17. With the younger children, I was able to teach them the basic skills they need and guide them through social and educational development. While working with older groups, I led them through mastering specific watercraft and leading them toward an intensive multi-day trip at the end of their camp experience. These trips required complex trip organization, managing groups of 16 children off-site, and working directly with parks services in our area to plan these excursions. This job was such an amazing experience where I truly felt like I made an impact in my community and grew as a professional leader. The skills I gained here I have used throughout my professional, educational, and personal experiences to this day.

As a garment coordinator, I worked with my team to manage the pieces for the Kent State Annual Fashion Show. I managed organizational systems for fittings, critiques, filming, and the live show. I aided in hiring dressers and managing the backstage for the live show. I worked directly with the rest of the show's team, faculty, and designers to facilitate the end-of-year BFA fashion show.

As an intern at Marta's I am able to gain experience in both sides of the business by working under both the store manager and the store's buyer. I manage inventory, assist customers, assist in visual merchandising, and organize and submit purchase orders, returns, and deliveries. I am able to learn about and experience many different aspects of the industry, and have been able to expand my skills in merchandising, organization, selling, practical business decisions for the store, and time management.
