Greetings, I am Walter L. Gardner, Jr., a devoted servant of the Church of Christ, with roots in Newport, Arkansas. My journey with the church began in the summer of 1976, marking a lifelong commitment to spiritual leadership and community service. At the young age of 12, I delivered my first sermon, setting the stage for a lifetime of ministry.Currently, I serve as an Associate Minister at the Sunset Road Church of Christ in Burlington, New Jersey, and as the Interim Minister at the Court House Church of Christ in Cape May, New Jersey. My ministerial foundation was solidified through over 27 years of service at the Newark Church of Christ in Newark, New Jersey, under the mentorship of the late Dr. Eugene Lawton. My role in the National Churches of Christ assemblies further amplifies my commitment, where I actively participate in annual conferences, gospel meetings, fostering spiritual growth and community.Parallel to my spiritual journey, I have developed a robust career in technology as the Founder of Gardner Precision Technologies, LLC. Over the past 25 years, I have carved a niche in Information Technology Management, serving businesses from our base in West Long Branch, New Jersey. This experience has not only honed my technical skills but also provided a unique perspective on integrating technology with spiritual practice. My academic pursuits are as diverse as my professional endeavors. With associate degrees in Science, Mathematics, and Physics from Brookdale Community College, a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology, my educational journey is extensive. However, it's my theological studies that resonate deepest, including my current pursuit of a Doctor of Ministry at Freed‐Hardeman University. Here, my research focuses on the intersection of traditional church engagement and the evolving digital landscape, especially in the post-COVID-19 context. This academic endeavor recently led me to Princeton Theological Seminary, where I completed a doctoral intensive course in "Saving the Soul of Black Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric" at the Black Theology and Leadership Institute, culminating in my induction as a scholar and fellow. With a heart firmly anchored in ministry, my ultimate vision is unwavering: "Integrating Technology in the Church to Save Souls and Keep Souls Saved." This mission encapsulates my life’s work, blending my spiritual devotion with technological insights to foster a contemporary approach to faith that resonates in today's world.
