In January 2019 was appointed Subsurface Director at Lir Resources, which focuses on the hydrocarbon resources of the East Irish Sea, In 2014 was appointed Subsurface Director at INEOS Shale. Managed and built the Subsurface Team and designed the INEOS UK exploration and development strategy. INEOS was awarded 22 licences in 14th Round, acquired additional acreage through farmins/acquisitions taking INEOS Shale portfolio to >1m acres net. Designed and directed the largest onshore UK 3D survey acquired UK. Has delineated >30 potential well sites in three onshore basins. Began working unconventionals at BG Group in 2009, successful assessing and evaluating shale plays in >40 basins across 25 countries. Devised a comprehensive global basin ranking system and designed appropriate entry strategies to maximise the potential value of shale gas. Previously, 26 years experience exploring hydrocarbon plays in Western Europe, Russia, Gulf of Mexico and South America, as well as North, West and Southern Africa. Ground breaking projects include participating in the Mississippi Canyon Crazy Horse discovery, which was the largest find in the Gulf of Mexico, and led to the new "Turtle Structure play concept. Proven record of identifying multiple prospects at regional level and developing them to ready to drilled, through integrating multiple complex data sets, whilst respecting commercial viability. Familiar with negotiating asset divestment/acquisition and seismic contracts, and managing complex cross-border projects, delivering accurate results quickly.
