Third Insight's team is composed of deep learning specialists, software engineers, and hardware experts.Our current projects include AI-based planning and navigation for unmanned aerial and ground vehicles (UAVs, UGVs) in cluttered and/or GPS-denied environments and neuro-symbolic techniques that integrate deep learning with human-readable knowledge bases.Our customers include commercial partners, as well as the Departments of Defense (DOD) and Homeland Security (DHS). We are currently funded by DARPA, the US Army, the US Air Force, and a large DOD prime. Applications of our platform for these customers include aircraft inspection, search and rescue efforts, and warfighter initiatives. We also support the USAF through the development of UAV-based environmental assessments. These techniques utilize deep learning and massive volumes of sensor data (optical, hyperspectral, LIDAR) to create tree species-specific maps of environmental health, which in turn facilitate DOD forest management. -

Advantek Waste Management Services (AWMS) spun off from Advantek International and closed its Series A round in August 2014 with $66B-private equity firm Texas Pacific Group's Alternative & Renewable Technologies (TPG ART) as lead investor. AWMS is a full service waste management company that provides disposal of drilling muds, cuttings, produced water, and flowback water. Since 2014, AWMS has built the core management and field teams, completed drilling, site construction and startup of its first "slurry injection facility" outside Kenedy, TX in the Eagle Ford. AWMS also built and deployed a distributed (and scalable) real-time well surveillance platform that enables its engineers to integrate field operations with cloud-based fracture simulations, web-based 3D visualization and well performance diagnostics. AWMS continues to make key acquisitions and position itself with partners as a safe and cost effective E&P waste disposal option in the Eagle Ford and Permian in Texas, the Bakken in North Dakota and the Marcellus and Utica in Ohio. Advantek's expansion into onshore waste injection is enabled by proprietary cloud-based technologies and real-time well surveillance tools.As COO of AWMS and Advantek, I was responsible for company operations and project planning and execution. With the help of my VP and team leads, that responsibility included managing: field personnel and site activities, internal engineering support and external consulting (AWMS has significant revenues associated with 3rd party monitoring for large oil and gas companies), and software technology development and deployment. Lastly, I worked with management and the board to support corporate development and M&A. -
