As Senior Media & PR Manager with Marie Curie, I have responsibility for the charity’s PR across Northern Ireland. I work closely with Hospice, Fundraising and Policy colleagues to identify media opportunities and advice on how best to engage with the charity’s supporters. I am also a member of the charity’s Divisional Leadership Team in Northern Ireland.

As Communications Manager with CLIC Sargent I developed integrated internal and external communications strategies for the charity’s ‘Home from Home’ project…a £4m capital project to build two specialist homes for the families of children undergoing a cancer treatment. Main duties included:• Develop a cut through online communications strategy to include website and social media channels capable of reaching audience groups as a means of assisting the fundraising teams• Act as the communications lead for the project, ensuring all branded promotional and service materials effectively communicate key messages• Preparing and editing communication strategies, news releases, and statements, position papers, and newsletters. • To work closely with the Policy and Research Team and to promote key findings to stakeholder groups e.g. NI Assembly and other influencers• To provide media briefing on key developments and provide an efficient and accurate response to all media requests
