Dear AllI have worked within the outdoor education industry in a variety of positions since 1995.I see ‘Outdoors and Adventure’ based activities as a perfect platform to help develop and instigate a positive change in everyone. I believe that Regardless of age or ability, having the opportunity to experience nature and the natural environment helps develop and nurture a positive attitude and encourages a healthy life style. My first training and experiences were in Coventry where I worked with the open awards officer Vic Taylor at Chelsmore community centre taking part in an outdoor education training scheme.From there I went to Superchoice in Osmington bay, Near Weymouth in Dorset. Where I worked as a multi activity instructor specialising in Climbing where I held the position of head of towers.i returned to the midlands in Sept 96 and started working at the Rock Face Climbing Center as instructor and later duty manager, where i remained until 2003After the birth of my daughter in 2000 i decided to further my career by returning to education where I stared a HND in Adventure Tourism Management, after good result from the HND I was given the opportunity to continue on to the degree course which I completed in 2003.I then went on to work for Solihull youth Service, Cropwood Outdoor Centre and BOEC, until I found my current position as the Outdoor and Adventure Activities Manager at Smith's Wood Academy, a position i have held since 2006 until the present Day.During my time at Smith's wood Academy I have developed my own skills towards more Nature based activities including forest School, bush craft and survival sessions. I currently hold a NVQ Level three Forest school provider. During this time i have also created a large variety of expedition and adventure based opportunity's including expeditions to Morocco, Mexico, India and Nepal as well as managing and running ski trips all over Europe and America.
